Aaron Silverman | President
Aaron Silverman is the President, Founder and Owner of SCB Distributors. A 3rd-generation Southern Californian who has always worked in the book business, Aaron attended UCLA, studying economics, computer science and math and graduated from UC, Santa Cruz, in Classics and Classical Literature. Aaron and his wife and business partner, Molly, established Aaron Blake Publishers in 1984, publishing a popular series of literary maps. In 1988 they founded SCB Distributors, beginning with one book. Today SCB Distributors is a multi-million dollar private corporation distributing 4,000 titles from almost 200 publishers to chains and independent bookstores across North America.
Gabriel Wilmoth | Director of Sales & Marketing
John Jackson | Warehouse Supervisor
Gabriel Wilmoth was born in Portland, Oregon, and, aside from brief stints in LA, Chicago and Colorado, did most of his growing up in suburban Atlanta. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1999, summa cum laude with a B.S. in Physical Geography. He soon decided, however, to pursue the written word instead of science. He jumped into the book industry as an editorial intern and later Assistant to the Publisher at Hill Street Press in Athens, Georgia, where he worked in publicity, marketing, and sales, gaining full exposure to the world of independent publishing. He joined SCB in the summer of 2003, and currently lives in Portland with his wife, Kumiko, and their two sons, Sky and Koa.
John Jackson was born in Greenville, Mississippi. In 1975, his family moved to Canton, Ohio, where he held an after-school job at a comic book store. John and his family then moved to Los Angeles. There he attended Locke High School, graduating with honors. In 1992, John began working with Samuel French Theater Books in Hollywood, where he ran the warehouse for seven years before joining the staff at SCB in January of 2000.
Kristi Callan | Assistant Editor
Kristi came to LA as a teenager, via Texas, Oklahoma, and New York City. While earning her B.A. in History from UCLA, she and her sister formed a critically acclaimed indie band that toured the U.S. and Canada, appearing on MTV and late night TV shows. She still plays, as a member of Cheap Chick, an all-female Cheap Trick tribute band, and as part of Dime Box. She joined SCB in 1999 as Editor of The Working Actors Guide and has worked here in many capacities, including sales, publicity and, for the last several years, editing the many SCB catalogues. She lives in Van Nuys with her husband and teenaged son and daughter.
Barbara Ann Hill Coker | Bookkeeper
Barbara, who has been with SCB since 1999, was originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, and came to LA when she was six. She attended Cerritos College and, with a partner, founded A&L Bookkeeping. Their clients included Power Pumps, Inc., STN Media, and several engineering firms. Barbara has two children and enjoys riding her Harley Davidson.

Molly Maguire | Editorial Director
Molly Maguire, co-owner of SCB, was born in Japan, where she lived until arriving in the US for the first time in 1968. With a BA, cum laude, in English and political science from the University of Illinois, she worked toward an MFA in video art/design (abd) at UCLA. A former upper school English teacher, she also worked in film development. She reads SCB's books, manages the visuals, the catalogs, and presents SCB's sales conferences. She and Aaron enjoy a wide range of arts and activities with their beloved daughters, Katie (University of Colorado, history, 2010) and Paige (Rhode Island School of Design, sculpture, 2012).
Victor Duran | General Manager
Dan Nolte | Graphic Design
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Victor Duran earned his B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA. Victor has contributed to many important facets of this expanding company, from data entry and customer service to publisher relations and trade show management. As General Manager, he trains and leads SCB's customer service representatives and warehouse crew, taking pride in SCB's high level of customer and publisher service. In addition to his appreciation for the written word, Victor is an avid sports fan of all L.A. franchises, including the Dodgers, the Lakers, USC football and UCLA basketball, as well as the Oakland Raiders. He also enjoys body surfing, golfing and snow skiing. Victor lives in Long Beach, CA, with his wife, Chrisann, and their daughter, Victoria Catherine.
Dan Nolte was born and raised in Southern California to a family of avid readers. His mother owns a small used bookshop which Dan assists by producing their monthly newsletter and website content. Designer of many advertisements, books and CD covers, Dan joined SCB in 2002 with the main responsibility of producing their various catalogs as well as advertisements and other graphic needs. Leaving his childhood home of Hermosa Beach, Dan has lived the majority of his adult life in Orange County where he spent many a day piloting submarines, driving monorails and sending hapless tourists into outer space. He currently lives in Fullerton under the watchful eye of two beautiful cats which adopted him in 2011.
